Questions
I would like to understand the booklet 'Astronomical light and shadows
phenomena of the great pyramid' in more detail, so I have a few questions:
-
When the 'Great pyramid' was constructed? Was this around
1100 CE? This is somewhat important to know, for calculating the position
of the sun at solstices.
-
I can understand the pictures on page 5 until page 9. Just for my understanding,
I think that the line summer solstice sunset winter solstice sunrise, is
totally not important for constructing the orientation of the pyramid.
Correct? I would say; one makes the enveloping rectangular around the circle
with the diagonal the summer solstice sunrise winter solstice sunset; and
that is it.

On page 10 one is talking about 18°. I did compass readings (compensated
for earth magnetic field) and GPS readings and in both cases I get 22°-23°
(I measured all 4 sides and found the same numbers every time). I also
calculated the sunrise/set at solstices and see angles of 64.5° and
245°, thus giving 19.5-20° for the diagonal. Can you explain why
you talk about 18°?

When I look at sun set/rise times in 900 CE (and 2002 CE), I get different
values then mentioned in the booklet (can be some 1.30 hours off!). I find
the following (I don't use daylight saving time of course) in Gregorian
calendar dates (because we are looking before 1582 CE):
15/12/900 CE 17:21 (sunset), you talk about 16:45
17/6/900 CE 5:12 (sunrise), you talk about 7:30
18/9/900 CE 5:43 (sunrise), you talk about 7:30
18/9/900 CE 17:50 (sunset), you talk about 16:30
16/3/900 CE 5:58 (sunrise), you talk about 7:30
16/3/900 CE 18:06 (sunset), you talk about 16:30
I know it is not that very important, but as said on page 27
'here is scientifically verifiable' and I really would like to do this
and thus understand your methodology.

Can one tell me when the section on the Chilam Balam of Chuyamel page 24
has been written? I am really interested in the Georgian calendar dates
used here, they look comparable to my dates, but are still off differently
for different dates... So if one can provide some clues, that would be
great.

On page 25 and 26 one talks about 9, 7 and 6 complete triangles. Why does
one only include in the 9 count the serpents head but not in the 7 and
6 counts: here the head is also in the sun? So should it not be 9, 8 and
7 (or 8, 7 and 6)?
-
On page 25 one talks about 52 days (Sept 6, Julian calendar), 16 days (Sept
22, Julian calendar) and then 17 days (Oct. 9, Julian calendar). Are these
52, 16 and 17 explicitly mentioned in the Maya's books and can one give
me a reference on this?
-
On page 28, one says that the difference between autumn equinox and winter
solstice is 91 days and so on for other 'steps' in the calendar. That is
not true. If you take the astronomical definitions of equinox and solstice
(which are the same as you(/Maya's?) used earlier) then in 900 CE the steps
should be 89, 90 and twice 93
I read in Landa that each staircase had 91 steps (at least around 1560
CE). Or should be assume 4*90 steps, because the ill-omoned dates where
not 'counted' in the Maya calendar (as stated in section XXXIV of Landa)?
