Some remarks on Stephen Temple Mill Biotope spreadsheet

Some remarks on ST workflow by Victor Reijs is licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0

Introduction

On this web page ST workflow [Stephen Temple, 2020&2024&2025] based on his Mill Biotope spreadsheet, will be discussed. It will look at the background and provide possible feedback

Several questions are outstanding, see below purple text. If you have input, please let me know.

Background

ST workflow is bsed on the DHM formula of Werkrgoep Molenbiotoop [1982]. That formula uses the principles presented in Beljaars [1979].
The conditions are:

Some typos/errors

A few aspects are under thinking when looking at the ST workflow:

Optimisation of the ST workflow

The ST workflow results are optimised using the 'Solve' functions of Excel. 'Solve' varies z0a, z0m, Cd, Cp and n in such a way that the difference between calculated results and measured windspeeds was minimsed for two mills.

Conclusions

Can only provide text for this section when things are fully understood and tried.
